Adult
Choir: Director: Mrs. Veronique Hadfield - 610-380-9045
This music ministry consists
of various levels of musicianship, from those
who just love to sing to those who can read music. The adult choir sings
at
most special occasions, holy days, and also at the 10:30 am mass on
Sunday. We are also very fortunate to be accompanied
by our
accomplished organist Kathy Hoffman.
Choir at practice with Veronique
This ministry is a volunteer ministry from ages 17 to 101 and the
only
requirement is that you love to sing in general. Every rehearsal contains a
balance of music theory and worship.
At our rehearsals we focus on how the word of God is translated into
music and it’s literal and musical meanings. For instance, in the hymn We
Are Many Parts, the harmonies are very rich and luxurious until you get
to the words, “make us one indeed” at this point we are all singing
in
unison, which symbolizes the unity that we try to achieve as a Catholic
congregation.
The choir has developed from as low
as a seven piece choir to what is now a 27 piece choir and still
growing. What really makes this ministry work is
the kind and welcoming personalities that already encompass our
wonderful group. This way we can focus on the important issues, which
are to lead the congregation in song while bringing out the many
musical
elements of each hymn in order to bring life to the music so that
the word
of God reaches and touches as many people as possible.
This
ministry consists of leading the congregation in song at all weekend
masses. This is a semi-volunteer ministry, which means that if you are
interested in becoming a cantor there is a small “audition” if
you will. This
consists of singing through a hymn that you know well, followed by a
hymn that you do not know so that we can see how quickly you learn new
pieces.
The cantor ministry is a very important one due to the goals that we
try to
meet. One goal entails spreading the word of God in another form while
leading the congregation so that they may participate in the music as
well. This means that we do need a certain level of musicianship in order
to achieve this goal.
Although we do have some minor requirements, you do not need to know
how to read music in order to be a part of this ministry. (Back

Youth
and Young Adult: Director: Austin Flinn - 610 883-3792
This music ministry consists of musicians
and singers ranging in age from 13 to the, well, “Young at
Heart”. We sing and play at the scheduled Sunday 12 pm masses.
Our rehearsals consist of a very laid back atmosphere. We try to use
this ministry in order to develop many skills, including the building
of our faith and community, individual character, musicianship, and
learning how to work together in a group setting.

Come and join us!
These skills lead to a very strong ministry that started four years
ago and
shows no signs of stopping. The people involved in this ministry are
welcoming, friendly, and supportive which makes everyone feel that they
always have somewhere to turn when in need.
In order to be a part of this group you must either have a love for singing
or a decent level of competency on your instrument. Since this ministry
aids in leading the congregation in song, we do need to include people
that know how to play their instruments, so start taking lessons now!
If you are interested in becoming a member of any part of our music
ministries, or you simply want more information, please feel free to
contact St. Peter’s Parish at your earliest convenience.
We thank all who support the music ministry by either allowing your
significant others to be a part of the various groups, bringing your
children to the rehearsals and masses, or by simply giving your kind
words and support on a daily basis. Thank you for helping to keep these
wonderful ministries alive so that we can praise the Word of God through
the gift of music!
