Saint Peter Parish SCRIP Gift Card Program is here!

What is it?

SCRIP is a program which makes it possible for you to put your ordinary shopping to work for tuition assistance or charitable causes. By purchasing gift cards from the parish and using those gift cards for your ordinary shopping you can lower tuition costs for your children, your grandchildren, for friends and neighbors or for students with special needs. It’s easy! You spend the same money you usually spend but the SCRIP Gift Card you purchase at face value from the parish has been discounted to us. The parish records the profit from your purchase in the way you tell us to, either for school tuition or for the parish pro-life group.

Who benefits?

Everyone! All area Parish, Regional and Private Catholic Elementary and High Schools and our Regional Religious Education Program benefit from Saint Peter SCRIP. There is also an option to support the Catholic High School Scholarship Committee or our Pro-Life Group!

Families who for years have purchased SCRIP from local parish programs report saving 300, 400 even up to 500 dollars on their tuition. The key is to make the purchase of SCRIP convenient for our parishioners.

How does it work?

Purchase gift cards from the parish for the stores where you typically buy groceries, sporting goods, household items, hardware, your favorite restaurant, coffee shop, video store or movie theater. The parish purchased the cards in bulk at a discount. Your gift card is worth the face value. The school you designate receives a percentage of the value toward student tuition and our parish receives a percentage toward our overhead.

Where do I purchase SCRIP?

SCRIP may be purchased at the parish office during our extended business hours.

How can I help?

Volunteers from our school families and other parishioners interested in helping our school students can make a real contribution simply by purchasing SCRIP themselves or by volunteering to sell SCRIP at the reception desk at the parish office. Debbie Forrest will coordinate the Saint Peter SCRIP effort and she can be reached after 4 PM at the parish office (610-380-9045). Dottie or Sue can be contacted during the day at the office.
